This is the single most important
question anyone can ever ask. Our souls will exist
for eternity but on the Day of Judgment when Jesus
Christ judges all who have ever lived, He will
divide the saved from the unsaved. The saved will
go to eternal life while the unsaved will go to
eternal punishment Matthew
25:31-46. This is why it is imperative we
be on the right side of the dividing line before
that day arrives.
The
Bible teaches "all have
sinned and fall short of the glory of
God" Romans
3:23. So everyone is in need of
salvation. Salvation comes through Jesus, the
Christ. And "salvation is found in no one else,
for there is no other name under heaven given to
men by which we must be saved."
Acts
4:12.
|

|
One must HEAR the GOSPEL, the good news that salvation is in the blood of Christ
|
Romans 10:14 - "How
then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How
will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without
a preacher?"
|
|

|
One
must sincerely BELIEVE
that Christ Jesus is the
Son of God,
the Savior of mankind,
& that He appeared as
God in the flesh to bring
the truth of the GOSPEL
to mankind
|
|
Hebrews 11:6 "And
without faith it
is impossible to
please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that
He is and that He
is a rewarder of
those who seek Him."
- Mark 16:16 "He
who has believed and has been baptized shall
be saved;
but he who
has disbelieved shall be condemned."
-
- John 8:24 "Therefore
I said to
you that
you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that
I am He,
you will
die in your sins."
-
- Acts 8:37 "And
Philip said,
'If you believe with all your heart, you may (be baptized).' And he (the Ethiopian eunuch) answered and said, 'I believe that
Jesus Christ
is the Son
of God.' "
|
|

|
One must REPENT of their sins to God. In doing this you are admitting to God and to yourself that you are a sinner and that you are willing to turn away from those sins.
|
|
- Luke 13:3 "I
tell you,
no, but unless
you repent,
you will
all likewise
perish."
Acts
2:38 "Peter said to them, 'Repent,
and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ
for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive
the gift of the Holy Spirit.' "
Acts 17:30 "Therefore
having
overlooked the
times of ignorance,
God is now declaring
to men that all
people everywhere should repent."
|
|

|
One must CONFESS their faith in Jesus as the Christ, the Savior of mankind
|
|
Acts 8:36 - 37 "36)
As they went along the road they came to some water; and
the eunuch said, 'Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?' 37) And Philip said, 'If you believe with all your heart, you may.' And he answered and said, 'I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.' "
Romans 10:8 - 10 "8)
But what
does it say? 'THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR
HEART' -- that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9) that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10) for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses,
resulting in
salvation."
1 Timothy 6:12 - 13 "12)
Fight the
good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which
you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13) I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before
Pontius Pilate."
|
|

|
One must be IMMERSED into Christ to wash away their sins, and to arise from the water to be resurrected as a NEWBORN CREATURE
|
|
- Mark 16:15 - 16 "15)
And He
said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel
to all creation. 16) He who has believed and has been baptized shall
be saved;
but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.' "
Acts 2:37 - 41 "37)
Now when
they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said
to Peter and the rest of the apostles, 'Brethren,
what shall
we do?' 38) Peter said to them, 'Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins;
and you will
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39) For
the promise
is for you and your children and for all who are far off,
as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.'
40) And with
many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting
them, saying, 'Be saved from this perverse generation!'
41) So then,
those who had received his word were baptized;
and that day
there were added about three thousand souls."
1 Peter 3:21 "Corresponding
to that, baptism now saves you -- not the removal
of dirt from
the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience --
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ."
John 3:3 - 5 "3)
Jesus answered
and said to him, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one
is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.' 4) Nicodemus said to Him, 'How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?' 5) Jesus answered, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he
cannot enter
into the kingdom of God.' "
Colossians 2:12 "having
been buried with Him (Christ) in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in
the working of
God, who raised Him from the dead."
Acts 8:34 - 39 "34) The eunuch answered Philip and said, 'Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself or of someone else?' 35) Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. 36) As
they went
along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said,
'Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?' 37) And Philip said, 'If you believe with all your heart, you may.' And he answered and said, 'I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.' 38) And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him.
39) When
they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched
Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him,
but went on his
way rejoicing."
- Acts 22:16 " 'Now
why do
you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins,
calling
on His name.' "
-
- Galatians 3:26 - 27 "26)
For you
are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27) For all of you who were baptized into Christ have
clothed
yourselves with Christ."
-
- Romans 6:3 - 8 "3)
Or do
you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4) Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into
death,
so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory
of the Father, so we too might walk in newness
of life.
5) For if we have become united with Him in the likeness
of His death, certainly we shall also be in the
likeness
of His resurrection, 6) knowing this, that our old self
was crucified with Him, in order that our body
of sin
might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves
to sin; 7) for he who has died is freed from
sin.
8) Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall
also live with Him."
-
- Ephesians 4:5 "one Lord, one faith, one baptism..."
|
|

|
One must then FAITHFULLY follow the will of Christ in obedience to God for the rest of their lives
|
|
1 Peter 2:2 "like
newborn babies, long
for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in
respect to salvation."
Revelation 2:10 "Do
not fear what you
are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to
cast some of you into prison, so
that you will be
tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days.
Be faithful until death, and
I will give you the
crown of life."
Matthew 24:13 "But
the one who endures
to the end, he will be saved."
Luke 9:23 "And He was saying to them all, "If
anyone wishes
to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up
his cross daily and follow Me."
2 Peter 1:5 - 10 "5)
Now for this
very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply
moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge,
6) and in your knowledge,
self-control,
and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your
perseverance, godliness, 7) and in your
godliness, brotherly
kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. 8) For
if these qualities are yours
and are increasing,
they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the
true knowledge of our Lord Jesus
Christ. 9) For
he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted,
having forgotten his purification
from his former
sins. 10) Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent
to make certain about His calling
and choosing
you; for as long as you practice these things, you will
never stumble."
