Our Loving Father

When we read of the love of God in the New Testament, we should be impressed beyond measure at the magnitude of His love.  When we humans love, we tend to measure it out, spoon it out, trickle it out, but God is greater.  So much greater.

Consider a few verses that will encourage us:

“The love of God has been poured out within our hearts…” Rom 5:5 (pour = to bestow or distribute largely).

“While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us…” Rom 5:8

“The son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”  Gal 2:20

“The riches of His grace which He lavished on us.”  Eph 1:7-8 (lavished = abundance)

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us.”  Eph 2:4

“See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God.”  1 John 3:1

Our Father’s love should motivate us to be godly, obedient, respectful and loving children.  We have the greatest Father of all.
